Description

This print shows a figure approaching the gate of the Tokugawa family temple Zōjōji in Tokyo in December. The grounds of this temple are a popular place for a neighborhood stroll. The person is trailed by a dog, whose dark coat is set off by the surrounding snowscape and a well-placed snowflake.
