Description

Baumann made numerous trips to the Pecos Wilderness in the Santa Fe National Forest. Located at the south end of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the area includes high summits, forests, plateaus, and miles of streams, all of which provided the artist with a seemingly unlimited supply of motifs. Here he concentrates on a grove of aspens whose white trunks create a staccato rhythm across the scene.
