Description

This image portrays a woman in a summer robe with a bat motif. She looks out into the evening scene on the street from behind bamboo bars in a hot spring bath. The design was once inserted into an August edition of the journal Bungei Kurabu (Literary Arts) to illustrate a story. While he got his start in creating book illustrations, Kaburaki Kiyokata went on to become a celebrated painter.
