Senegalese fine art, fashion, and advertising photographer Omar Victor Diop (b. 1980) has spent the past five years creating self-portraits that reinterpret or imagine historical events and personal stories in which the sons and daughters of Africa have survived, risen up, and excelled despite adverse circumstances. Diop discusses his own creative journey, detailing what he hoped to achieve with the series, what he learned from its reception, and his next creative steps. Free; ticket required.
