Description

In Sardine Fishermen, Frasconi achieved the painterly effect of nets cast over shimmering blue-green water by using five or six blocks for each sheet. The scene of fishermen along a coast is reminiscent of his native South America, but it also alludes to his studio in South Norwalk, Connecticut, which overlooks the Long Island Sound.
